PARIS: Omicron has become the main Covid strain in France with the country reporting 2,32,200 new cases on Friday, the highest-ever recorded total.
New infections over the last 24 hours were above the 200,000 limit for the third day running. The previous record of 208,099 was set on Wednesday. "62.4% of tests showed a profile compatible with Omicron variant" at the start of this week, compared to 15% the previous week," French public health agency said late on Thursday.
