Cameron Norrie is out of Queen’s after the British No 1 was defeated by Sebastian Korda in straight sets in the quarter-finals.

Norrie was targeting a home victory ahead of Wimbledon but was outgunned by the big-serving American, who won the second-set tiebreak 7-1 to wrap up a 6-4 7-6 win. His defeat means there will be no British interest, in singles or doubles, going into the weekend at Queen’s Club for the first time since 2012.

Carlos Alcaraz continues his grass-court preparations against former Queen’s champion Grigor Dimitrov in the last match of the day, after Alex de Minaur became the first player through to the final four after holding off the challenge of Frenchman Adrian Mannarino in three sets.

The Australian will play second seed Holger Rune in the semi-finals after the 20-year-old prevailed against the Italian Lorenzo Musetti in straight sets.

*Carlos Alcaraz 6-4 0-3 Grigor Dimitrov - Break!

Now it’s Dimitrov’s turn to hit the front! This had been coming, but the Bulgarian breaks first in the second set with a wonderful forehand winner. His serve is really firing now, too, and it will be a challenge for Alcaraz to get back into this.

Yep, that’s a hold to love. Dimitrov is looking strong.

Carlos Alcaraz 6-4 Grigor Dimitrov* - Set!

They are racing through the games now and Alcaraz takes a high-quality set with a high-quality backhand winner down the line. The 20-year-old holds to love twice in a row to close it out - class.

For Dimitrov, it comes down to that poor opening game. The former Queen’s champion will hope to keep with Alcaraz from the start in the second.

    Carlos Alcaraz 4-2 Grigor Dimitrov*

That’s more like it from Dimitrov, who goes on the attack and asks some testing questions of Alcaraz behind his stylish forehand and one-handed backhand slice.

He brings up break points, but actually brings out the best of Alcaraz! The Spaniard wins a stunning rally with a beautiful forehand drop shot.

This is turning out to be some match...

    Carlos Alcaraz 3-1 Grigor Dimitrov*

It’s no surprise to see Carlos Alcaraz getting the home crowd onside by going into his bag of tricks early on. The Spaniard pulls out a sublime drop volley to move 3-1 up in this opening set, as he continues to look more and more comfortable on the grass.

Carlos Alcaraz 2-0 Grigor Dimitrov* - Break!

That’s a rather flat opening game from the former Queen’s champion Dimitrov, with two double faults. Alcaraz says thank you very much and eases into an early lead.

Sebastian Korda 6-4 7-6 Cameron Norrie - Game, set and match!

Up next on Centre Court is the top seed and world No 2 Carlos Alcaraz, who faces the former Queen’s champion Grigor Dimitrov.

Dimitrov is the only former Queen’s champion left in the draw.

This should be a great quarter-final to finish the day’s play.

Sebastian Korda 6-4 7-6 Cameron Norrie - Game, set and match!

Ruthless from Sebastian Korda! The American knocks Cameron Norrie out of Queen’s and ends British interest in the singles after winning the second-set tiebreak 7-1.

It rather summed up the match. Norrie made too many errors throughout in order to challenge Korda’s serve and when the American found his rhythm it was rather one-sided.

Korda is looking pretty strong ahead of Wimbledon and that big serve could get him a long way. He reached the Australian Open semi-finals earlier this year.

Cameron Norrie 3-6 6-6 Sebastian Korda - Tiebreak!

Double fault from Norrie! That’s 4-0.

Norrie pushes Korda onto his backhand and is able to get onto the board at 4-1, but with Korda to serve next.

Ace from Korda! It’s 5-1 at the changeover.

Cameron Norrie 3-6 6-6 Sebastian Korda - Tiebreak!

Norrie just can’t be doing that on the opening point of the tiebreak. He gifts Korda the mini-break as another forehand goes long. The American shows why with a huge serve down the middle for an ace, and a quick 3-0 lead.
