    Harry and Meghan: A timeline

Kate Middleton has hinted at a possible return to public life this weekend as King Charles ramps up his return to work with the announcement of a major event.

According to reports, the Princess of Wales may be “considering” a surprise appearance at the King’s annual birthday parade on Saturday, 15 June.

This comes after she apologised in a heartfelt letter for missing the final Trooping the Colour rehearsal, known as the Colonel’s Review, last weekend.

The Princess of Wales, who is the honorary Colonel of the Irish Guards, wrote: “Please pass my apologies to the whole Regiment, however, I do hope that I am able to represent you all once again very soon.”

Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace has announced that King Charles will be attending the Order of the Garter service at Windsor Castle next week.

The Order of the Garter is the oldest and most senior Order of Chivalry in Britain and they will undertake a procession including the King in the castle grounds.

Queen could stop Prince Harry and King Charles reunion

Royal expert Tom Quinn speculated to The Mirror that even if the Prince reaches out to acknowledge the King’s official birthday and Trooping the Colour on Saturday and Father’s Day on Sunday, he could be stopped by the Queen Consort.

According to the expert, she is trying to avoid the Monarch having any interactions which may upset him.

Quinn speculated: “Harry has tried to schedule a call with his father already, but his father is prevaricating with Camilla advising against anything that might upset King Charles.”

Prince Harry knows the ‘world will be watching’ him on Father’s Day

The Duke of Sussex, 39, has notably not seen his father since he revealed his cancer diagnosis in February when he flew to the UK for a reported 45-minute meeting.

While Harry also returned to the UK last month, he did not meet with the King because of his allegedly busy schedule.

Royal author Tom Quinn told The Mirror: “King Charles’ birthday and Father’s Day are both a nightmare for Harry. He knows the world will be watching to see whether he is big enough to reach out to his father.

“He is determined to try to ignore his troubled relationship with his father and he will certainly send a warm message.

“It’s easy to forget that Harry really does love his father, he just hates the fact that Charles seems always to support William when there is a family dispute.”

Animal rights group says escaped military horses should miss Trooping the Colour

Their request comes after the army revealed that the horses had made “remarkable progress” in recovering from the incident earlier this year and would likely be appearing at Saturday’s event.

In a letter written to the commanding officer of the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment (HCMR), Lieutenant Colonel Mathew Woodward, PETA said the events of 24 April, when the horses were spooked by noise from a nearby building side, showed that the animals were not suited a life of public service.

Kate Werner, Peta’s senior campaigns manager, wrote: “Clearly, these horses are easily agitated and sensitive to noise.

“Forcing them to perform at a crowded event marked by drums and a 41-gun salute would place them and the public at risk.

“The whole world was rightly shocked to see images of scared, blood-soaked horses running through the streets of London after getting spooked during April’s failed exercise.

“Tradition is never an excuse for animal suffering, and each horse deserves to live free from the stress they endure when paraded through a busy, loud capital city with a human on their back, all for the amusement of noisy, unpredictable crowds.”

King Charles would be ‘delighted’ by surprise Kate appearance

Following the news that the Princess of Wales is considering making a surprise appearance at the Trooping the Colour, an expert has claimed that the King would be “delighted” if it happens.

PR advisor Rhea Freeman told GB News that any appearance would “dominate the news” and send a positive message about the strength of the monarchy to the world.

She said: “If Kate were to appear on the balcony it would definitely dominate the news.

“But from everything I’ve read and seen, I would imagine that the King would be delighted to have her there.

“It would reinforce the strength of the monarchy moving forward, something that has been questioned by some with both the King and Kate’s recent health concerns.”

Prince Harry’s friends ‘don’t get on with Meghan'

A royal expert has claimed that Prince Harry is looking to acquire a new UK residence as his friends have not been visiting him in America.

Tom Quinn claims that the Prince, who gave up his UK residence Frogmore Cottage last June, misses his old life.

He told The Mirror: “Harry is determined to find his own permanent home in the UK, which is partly why he’s continuing his legal action to get the British taxpayer to pay for his security.

“As time goes by, Harry misses some aspects of his old life in the UK.

“He misses his Old Etonian and army friends, many of whom have not visited as they don’t get on with Meghan.”
