With today being New Year's Day, the bank holiday means that many people may opt to look at their finances at home, rather than in their local bank branch. However, as 2020 gets underway, some users of online banking and mobile banking have said they've experienced problems.
Customers of Lloyds Bank and Halifax have reported problems with the online banking and mobile banking services today.
Bank of Scotland customers have also reported encountering issues, with the bank also apologising for the issues.
The Down Detector website reports that within the last 24 hours, problems were first being reported at around 4am.
Taking to Twitter to express their frustration, one person penned: “Just great when I need to access online banking to pay the rent? Thanks Halifax.”

Another concerned customer wrote: "When will my online banking be back up?
"I only transfer what money I need each day so right now with it sat in my Halifax savings account I’m without any money."
A different person asked: “Is anyone else having trouble logging into the lloyds bank app?”
A second unhappy Lloyds customer asked Lloyds Bank: “When will I be able to access my money? Poor start to 2020. #givememymoney.”

A statement on the Bank of Scotland Twitter account reads: "We know our customers are having issues with internet and mobile banking.
"We're sorry about this and we're working to have it back to normal soon."
Upon seeing the statement, one Twitter user explained: "Urgently need to transfer money into another account.
"Any idea when mobile app will be working again?"
Another person commented: "Is there any update I have left my card in the house and need to transfer money to my partner to get us a taxi home leaving me stranded to an extent."(sic)
"Any idea how much longer please? Its halifax too, I need access to both accounts," penned a third.
A spokesperson for Lloyds Banking Group said she did not have any information on how soon it would be fixed or how many account holders were affected.
