Liverpool face Atletico Madrid tonight and will be confident of another positive result at the scene of their 2019 Champions League final win.

Jurgen Klopp’s side sit 25 points clear at the top of the Premier League, while Diego Simeone’s Atletico lie fourth in La Liga.

The Reds have never lost a two-legged European tie under Klopp since his arrival at Anfield in October 2015.

Liverpool did suffer defeat the last time they met Atletico, a 2-2 loss on away goals over two legs in the semi-final of the 2009/10 Europa League.

But Atletico have won just one of their last seven matches in all competitions, as opposed to Liverpool’s extraordinary run of 34 wins in their last 35 Premier League games.

    When is the match

The match kicks off at 8pm at the Wanda Metropolitano.

What TV channel is it on?

The game will be broadcast to BT Sport subscribers on BT Sport 2.

Viewers can also access coverage online via the BT Sport app.

    Team news

Liverpool will be without Xherdan Shaqiri and Nathaniel Clyne in Madrid but Jurgen Klopp has an otherwise fit squad to choose from.

Sadio Mane returned to action on Saturday after a hamstring injury.

Joao Felix, Kieran Trippier and Hector Herrera are unlikely to be available for the hosts, although Diego Costa could feature after returning to training last week.

    Predicted line-ups

Liverpool: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Salah, Firmino, Mane

Atletico: Oblak, Arias, Savic, Gimenez, Lodi, Thomas, Koke, Saul, Vitolo, Morata, Correa

    Prediction

Simeone’s side have been a notoriously tricky opponent over the years but Atletico are at a noticeably low ebb. Liverpool have struggled at times away in Europe but their incredible form is likely to continue here, especially after the return of Mane.
