Frank Lampard’s Chelsea host Everton with both sides in the thick of the race for a top four finish and qualification for the Champions League next season.

The Blues are on a high after beating Liverpool midweek in the FA Cup, while Carlo Ancelotti’s side have maintained momentum in their resurgence sinc e his arrival.

The Toffees are third in the form table since the Italian took over at Goodison with 18 points from 10 games – behind only Liverpool and Manchester City in that period.

Victory for Ancelotti at one of his former sides will narrow the gap to fourth to just five points.

Prediction

This is a tough one to predict given Everton’s clear potential to score away from home with Dominic Calvert-Lewin in great form. The Blues should be confident, but the injuries are beginning to add up and it will be a big test of Billy Gilmour to start his first Premier League game at 18 years of age. If he can stand up to the test, like he did against Liverpool, then the Blues should have enough control to build their attacks from and grind out a win in what could prove to be a high-scoring affair.
