Vanessa Bryant has opened a card from her late husband Kobe Bryant, after finding it the day before her 38th birthday.
On Tuesday, Bryant shared a photo of a yellow envelope that she had found the day before, written by the basketball legend before he, the couple’s daughter Gianna and seven others died in a helicopter crash in January.
“Yesterday I found an envelope labelled To: The Love of my Life. From, Tu Papi,” Bryant captioned a photo of the letter’s envelope on Instagram. “I waited to open one more letter on my birthday. It gave me something to look forward to today.”
According to Bryant, who did not share the content of the letter, her husband had had a picture of her being held up by an angel drawn on the cover of the letter.
“The irony is that Kobe had a photo of me drawn with an Angel holding me up by an artist on the cover,” she wrote, adding: “Missing the Love of my Life and my sweet little Mamacita - my fellow Taurus.”
The mother-of-four concluded the post expressing her gratitude at waking up “to my three sweet girls today”.
“Wish we were all together,” Bryant wrote , adding the hashtag #MyBirthdayWish.
Bryant’s birthday comes four days after she celebrated what would have been the 14th birthday of Gianna, who went by Gigi.
“Happy 14th Birthday to my sweet baby girl, Gianna. Mommy loves you more than I can ever show you. You are part of MY SOUL forever,” Bryant captioned a photograph of her daughter smiling on Instagram.
