Gwen Stefani has amused fans by superimposing her boyfriend Blake Shelton onto a throwback photo of her and ex-husband Gavin Rossdale.
On Wednesday, the Sweet Escape singer, who performed Happy Anywhere with Shelton during the Academy of Country Music Awards that night, commemorated the awards show by sharing the throwback photo on Instagram.
“#datenight @acmawards w my boo @blakeshelton gx,” Stefani captioned the photo, which shows her dressed in jeans and a crop top. Alongside her in the photo appears to be Shelton, who is wearing a cowboy hat, jeans and a brown blazer.
However, shortly after sharing the photo, fans realised that Stefani had originally posted the picture in 2014, where she could clearly be seen standing next to Rossdale.
In the comments section, fans reacted with amusement to Stefani’s editing skills, with many joking that the singer had made sure Rossdale is “literally out of the picture”.
“Gavin is literally out of the picture,” one person commented. “Blake and you look adorable together.”
Another said: “You did NOT with this photoshopping!!!!”
“How can we like this more than once?” the official account for the Kelly Clarkson show asked.
Stefani and Rossdale, who share sons Kingston, 14, Zuma, 12, and Apollo, six, separated in 2015 after 13 years of marriage. The singer began dating Shelton later that year.
The photo edit comes after Rossdale opened up about his failed marriage to Stefani during an interview with The Guardian earlier this year.
In response to a question about his most embarrassing moment, the Bush co-founder said: “The gross and lopsided spectre of the crumbling of my marriage.”
