Baiada Poultry Pty Limited is conducting a recall of Steggles Frozen Turkey Breast Roast products that come in 1-kilogram packaging, according to a notice on the Food Standards Australia New Zealand website.
The product has been available for sale at Coles stores in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). It was also sold by independent food retailers, including IGA, in Tasmania, South Australia and Northern Territory (NT).
The recall was issued due to incorrect packaging, as the presence of allergens, such as gluten, sulphites and tree nuts was not declared. Any consumers who have a gluten, sulphites or tree nut allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if the product is consumed, the recall notice advised.
Those who may have such allergies or intolerances should not consume the product and should return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
Headquartered in Pendle Hill, Australia, Baiada Poultry shares the status as the largest poultry company in Oceana with Ingham’s. Both companies, according to the Poultry International Top Companies survey, slaughtered 208 million broilers in 2019, and both companies have both broiler and turkey operations.
