    On Sunday, the highly anticipated interview between Oprah Winfrey and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will air for the first time, giving viewers a look inside the lives of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex since stepping down from their roles as senior members of the royal family.

    The interview, which took place during a conversation with Winfrey where “nothing is off-limits,” will also cover “wide-ranging” topics, such as motherhood, the couple’s philanthropic work and the duke and duchess’s move to California.

    On Wednesday, Meghan responded to a new report in The Timeswhich claimed she was the subject of a bullying complaint in October 2018, while at Kensington Palace.

    The complaint was allegedly raised by Jason Knauf, who was the Sussexes’ communications secretary at the time.

    In response to the allegations, the Duchess of Sussex’s spokesperson called the claims part of a “calculated smear campaign based on misleading and harmful misinformation”.

    In another trailer, Winfrey revealed that she reached out to Meghan with an interview request once before, right before the royal wedding in 2018.

    According to the TV juggernaut, at the time, the request was denied on the basis that it was “not the right time,” a statement that prompted Meghan to respond: “I remember that conversation very well, I wasn’t even allowed to have that conversation with you personally.”

    Oprah’s CBS deal

    CBS is paying $7 million and $9 million for the rights to air Oprah’s interview with Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex, reports say.

    The deal between the network and Harpo Productions - Ms Winfrey’s company - gives CBS the rights to license the special in international markets.

    A spokeswoman for the couple said they are not being compensated for the interview.

    CBS is reportedly charging around $325,000 for 30 seconds of commercial time during the program, double the usual rate.

    Oprah Winfrey attended Meghan and Harry’s wedding in 2018, and tomorrow’s interview is reportedly the result of a three-year discussion between the two women .

    Winfrey is also friendly with Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland. After photos emerged of Ragland leaving Winfrey’s home with gifts, reports claimed that the TV host had showered her with gifts in a bid to get her to do a tell-all interview.
