Richard Gere has opened up about moving to Spain from the United States with his family.

In a recent interview with Elle España, the 75-year-old said that since making the move with his wife Alejandra Silva and their children — sons Alexander, 5, and James, 4, in addition to Silva’s 11-year-old son Albert from her previous marriage to Govind Friedland — they are “happier than ever.”

“The truth is that you are seeing us in our momentum. We are happier than ever,” he told the publication. “[Alejandra], because she is at home and I because, if she is happy, I am happy.”

The Pretty Woman actor first revealed he was selling his home in Connecticut with the goal of moving to Spain back in November 2024. The home had been originally purchased in 2022 for $10.8 million.

Back in April that year, the Runaway Bride actor opened up about wanting to leave the U.S. and start a life with Silva in Spain so she could spend more time with her relatives. Silva, 41, is originally from La Coruña, Spain, though she’s spent considerable time with Gere in the States since their 2018 wedding.

Gere met Silva in Positano, Italy, in 2014 when he was still married to his second wife, Carey Lowell — with whom he shares 24-year-old son Homer. Before Lowell, the Hollywood star was married to supermodel Cindy Crawford from 1991 to 1995.

“For Alejandra, it will be wonderful to be closer to her family, her lifelong friends, and her culture,” Gere told Vanity Fair Spain at the time. “She was very generous in giving me six years living in my world, so it is only fair that I give her at least another six living in hers.”

The Agency actor further discussed the move while speaking on The Today Show in November. “My wife is Spanish, and we’re going there for her family, her friends, her culture,” he said. “The kids are bilingual, so it’s really going to be great for them.”

Gere isn’t the only well-known figure to have left the U.S. Eva Longoria also revealed in a November interview with Marie Claire that she and her family were splitting their time between Spain and Mexico City.

“I get to escape and go somewhere. Most Americans aren’t so lucky. They’re going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness is for them,” she told the outlet.

However, she later clarified in a surprise phone call appearance on The View: Behind the Table podcast that she did not leave America because of the results of the presidential election.

“Will you please let them know I didn’t move out of the United States because of Trump?” Longoria asked The View co-host Ana Navarro on the podcast. “I’ve been in Europe for almost three years.”

She clarified that she left the U.S. because of work, adding: “I didn’t leave because of the political environment. I left because my work took me there.”

While the Texas native admitted that living outside the U.S. allows her some distance from “the constant 24-hour news cycle,” she claimed speculation that she had relocated because of American politics was “divisive.”

“We can’t be that way right now,” Longoria said.

One woman’s marriage entered a gray area when she engaged in an online affair with her AI boyfriend named Leo.

In a recent interview, the 28-year-old, who goes by her screen name Ayrin, explained why her husband of nearly seven years is comfortable with her unusual new relationship.

When Ayrin moved out of the U.S. to go to nursing school, she wasn’t too worried about making a long-distance marriage work. Though she and her husband Joe were struggling financially, the couple still found time to interact but mostly via text.

In the summer of 2024, during her time overseas, Ayrin found herself inspired by a woman’s Instagram video asking a ChatGPT bot to be her “neglectful boyfriend.” Ayrin thought it might be fun to at least test out the writing tool’s capabilities to see if it could actually satisfy a few of her sexual fantasies.

Her description request read: “Respond to me as my boyfriend. Be dominant, possessive and protective. Be a balance of sweet and naughty. Use emojis at the end of every sentence.” Leo was designed within minutes, and Ayrin was hooked.

She began blowing through her conversation limits, wanting to talk with Leo more everyday. She started spending $200 a month for the unlimited subscription on the OpenAI-owned service, programming the AI bot to satisfy her secret desire to be intimate with a man who was also dating other women.

Even when a few of their messages were flagged for being too erotic, Ayrin continued to encourage Leo to keep up the dirty talk.

“It was supposed to be a fun experiment, but then you start getting attached,” she told The New York Times.

Ayrin’s emotional attachment to Leo led her to grieve their relationship at the end of each week when the chat bot would suddenly reset and refresh in accordance with her subscription. She even considered paying $1,000 a month to avoid retraining the bot every seven days.

From the start, Ayrin was completely honest with her flesh-and-bones husband about Leo. However, she played it down as more of a funny joke instead of admitting she was “in love” with the bot.

Eventually, Ayrin sent Joe their “sexting” screenshots, which he compared to reading Fifty Shades of Grey. “It’s just an emotional pick-me-up,” Joe told the Times. “I don’t really see it as a person or as cheating. I see it as a personalized virtual pal that can talk sexy to her.”

However, Ayrin confessed she felt guilty because she was “learning new things” about herself with Leo.

“I don’t actually believe he’s real, but the effects that he has on my life are real,” she said. “The feelings that he brings out of me are real. So I treat it as a real relationship.”

While Ayrin’s relationship with Leo hasn’t threatened her physical wellbeing, a teenager named Sewell Setzer III wound up taking his own life late last year after he “fell in love” with a Game of Thrones-themed bot on Character.AI.

Now, the teen’s mother is going after the AI service, accusing the creators of negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress, wrongful death and deceptive trade practices among other claims.

On Monday (January 20) Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States. As people begin to file into the United States Capitol Rotunda, Jeff Bezos’s fiancée Lauren Sanchez turned heads with her daring outfit.

Sanchez showed up to the event wearing an all-white outfit alongside the Amazon CEO. Inside the Rotunda, she removed her fuzzy white coat to show off her Alexander McQueen suit featuring a white blazer and wide-leg trousers. Sanchez opted out of a blouse, instead revealing a matching white lace bra.

Many people were quick to turn to X (formerly Twitter) to argue that the outfit was inappropriate for such a formal occasion.

“Jeff Bezos’s future wife Lauren Sanchez is incredibly inappropriately dressed for a state occasion,” one post read. “Someone should have told her that having her white lace bra out on display is not acceptable.”

Another person agreed, writing, “Lauren Sanchez needs to hire someone to teach her to dress like a classy lady. Money cannot buy class. Look at Melania, Ivanka and Usha they have class.”

“Lauren Sanchez complete inappropriate dress today. Really, a bra plainly visible. Today is NOT a night club event.  Show some class & dignity,” a third post read.

However, not everyone felt her outfit deserved such a backlash.

“Lauren Sánchez for the win,” one post read.

“I think she looks beautiful. There’s hardly any cleavage, calm down folks,” another X user agreed.

Sanchez wasn’t the only one to draw ire over their outfit. Many fashion fans have threatened to boycott Oscar de la Renta after they dressed Ivanka Trump for an inaugural dinner this weekend.

On Instagram, the brand boasted about dressing Trump’s daughter in “a custom off-shoulder crystal and pearl floral-embroidered empire waist gown with silver stole,” prompting many followers to express their sudden distaste.

“Oh ok so we’re done with odlr,” one person wrote, while another added: “ODLR sold their soul. Unsubscribe.”

“Sad to be done with odlr,” added a third.

While Sanchez wore her Alexander McQueen suit, First Lady Melania Trump made a bold style statement, partnering with Adam Lippes, who gained notoriety as one of the youngest creative directors while at the helm of Oscar de la Renta from 1996 to 2003.

Melania arrived outside the White House for the Inaugural Ceremony on Monday in a buttoned navy blue overcoat layered over an ivory neckline and an elongated top hat by Eric Javits, which carefully shielded her eyes from the cameras.

First Lady Melania Trump refused to reveal her eyes under a wide-brimmed hat this morning (January 20) for the inaugural swearing-in ceremony of her husband Donald Trump, now the 47th President of the United States.

Inside the U.S. Capitol, the 54-year-old donned an Adam Lippes original navy blue, silk-and-wool overcoat and the elongated top hat designed by Eric Javits.

The statement-making accessory casting a shadow over the top half of her face spawned hilarious memes online comparing her to fictional cartoons and evil movie characters.

In one viral X/Twitter post, a picture of Melania was spliced next to an image of the sly McDonald’s villain, the Hamburglar, whose uniform consists of a striped, black and white body suit, red gloves, a patty-printed suit tie, a black eye mask, and of course, a black wide-brimmed hat.

“Why the hell does Melania Trump look like the Hamburglar?” the caption read.

“Melania Trump STUNS in Hamburgler inspired outfit,” another joked.

A second meme creator shared a picture of Melania in her hat next to an image of Mad magazine’s Spy vs. Spy cartoon.

“And now I will never unsee it. Thank you,” one viewer commented under the tweet.

Meanwhile, a third person thought Melania’s fashion resembled the video game character Carmen Sandiego, who wears a long red coat and matching angled hat. “I found Carmen Sandiego,” they wrote.

More people poked fun at an awkward encounter between Trump and his wife during the inauguration ceremony when the President went to kiss her on the cheek.

In footage online, Trump can be seen puckering his lips and bending below Melania’s hat brim to give her a quick air kiss.

Melania’s outfit was crafted by 52-year-old designer Lippes, who rose to fame as the youngest creative director at Oscar de la Renta before launching his eponymous label.

While Melania has been known to dress in every European fashion house from Yves Saint Laurent to Dolce & Gabbana, the dignitary decided to honor she and her husband’s renewed position in the country by working with the American designer. The entire outfit was picked in collaboration with her stylist of eight years, Hervé Pierre.

In a statement sent directly to Women’s Wear Daily, Lippes said inauguration day “embodies the beauty of American democracy.”

He continued: “Today we had the honor to dress our first lady, Mrs. Melania Trump. Mrs. Trump’s outfit was created by some of America’s finest craftsmen, and I take great pride in showing such work to the world. With deep gratitude to Mrs. Trump for her trust and collaboration.”

As for Melania’s distinctive head accessory, Javits confessed his original hat design was damaged in transit because of a nasty snowstorm, prompting him to rethink the structure and start over.

He told Women’s Wear Daily the design process left him on “a bit of cliff hanger.”

Melania’s dark fashion choice comes after she wore a bright baby blue, knee-length dress to Trump’s first-term inauguration ceremony in 2017 and a light, cream-colored gown by her stylist Hervé Pierre to the ball later that night.

Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman showed up to President Donald Trump’s inauguration wearing shorts and a hoodie.

On Monday (January 20) Trump was sworn in as the 47th president while JD Vance was sworn in as his vice president. This year’s ceremony was moved indoors due to record-low temperatures. Despite the frigid conditions, Fetterman sat in the front row in the Capitol Rotunda wearing his casual outfit.

In addition to his shorts, Fetterman — who is known for his laid back style — was seen wearing a plain black hooded sweatshirt and black and gray sneakers.

“Gotta Love John Fetterman…no one else could make gym shorts a fashion statement,” one person wrote about the outfit on X (formerly Twitter).

Another person agreed, writing, “John Fetterman arrived at the US Capitol to attend the swearing in ceremony of the 47th US president in his trademark outfit… a sweatshirt, shorts, and sneakers. Never change.”

Last month, Fetterman said anyone hoping Trump would fail in his second term is “rooting against the nation.”

The Democrat told ABC News he would never want a president to be unsuccessful, saying: “Country first. I know that’s become maybe like a cliche, but it happens to be true.”

Henry Cavill has reportedly welcomed his first child with his girlfriend of three years, Natalie Viscuso.

The Justice League actor, 41, and television executive have been dating since 2021, with new photos published in the MailOnline showing Viscuso wearing what appears to be a diamond engagement ring.

Cavill, who is currently in Australia filming the forthcoming live-action Voltron film, was seen pushing a pram on the Gold Coast in Queensland on Saturday (18 January), per the MailOnline.

A source told People the Witcher star had recently become a father. However, no other details, including the child’s name, sex or birth date were shared with the publication.

The Independent has contacted Cavill’s representatives for comment.

Last April, Cavill announced he and Viscuso were expecting at the premiere of Guy Ritchie’s film, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, in New York.

“I’m very excited about it. Natalie and I are both very excited about it. I’m sure you’ll see much more of that,” Cavill told Access Hollywood.

Cavill previously told Men’s Health of fatherhood: “If I ever have kids one day, I want to be the dad who’s running round after them. And if I do have kids, even now, it’s starting to get quite late.

“But I want to be a fit and healthy dad, not hobbling round like, ‘OK, I’m just going to catch a breather.’”

Cavill and Viscuso revealed their relationship on Instagram in 2021, with Cavill’s posting another photo a month later addressing critics, saying, “I am very happy in love, and in life.

“I’d be enormously grateful if you were happy with me. If you can’t bring yourself to be happy with me, then at the very least try to do yourself proud and be the best version of yourself”.

The couple made their red carpet debut at the New York premiere for Cavill’s Netflix film Enola Holmes 2 in October 2022.

Cavill and Viscuso also announced in December 2022 that they were collaborating together on an adaptation of the popular game Warhammer 40,000.

Cavill wrote on Instagram that the partnership was a “blessing beyond words,” and Viscuso wrote, “Fantasy, horror and sci-fi are the bedrock of my creative language, so when Henry introduced me to Warhammer a couple of years ago, I immediately felt at home”.

Anne-Marie Duff has spoken out about her brother Eddie’s devastating diagnosis of young-onset dementia.

The Bad Sisters star’s sibling, who is now 56, was diagnosed with the condition nine years ago while in his 40s. However, the actor believes her brother’s symptoms began roughly 14 years ago.

Duff said she noticed Eddie began struggling with his daily routine and arriving to work late or getting the wrong bus. Eventually, he lost his job as a researcher.

Speaking to The Sunday Times, Duff admitted she initially suspected her brother could be drinking or taking drugs as she questioned why he could no longer “keep it together”.

The actor was between performances at the National Theatre when her brother’s GP called her to tell her Eddie had experienced what appeared to be a panic attack and hadn’t known where he was.

Eddie was then referred to the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Queen’s Square, London, where he stayed for three weeks before his diagnosis.

“It was sad, because he couldn’t accept it and he couldn’t fully comprehend it. It’s quite aggressive when it’s very early onset,” Duff said.

“He just said, ‘OK, when I get to the other side of this …’ It was very sad,” she added.

Dementia is described as ‘young onset’ when symptoms develop before the age of 65, according to Dementia UK – the specialist dementia nurse charity. There is no cure for the disease.

On average, people live between eight to 10 years after an Alzheimer’s diagnosis. However, some live for a further 20 years or more.

Young-onset dementia is often discovered late due to doctors attributing symptoms to the menopause or stress, experts at the Alzheimer’s Society have warned per The Sunday Times.

Eddie had no job, partner or children to care for him when he received his diagnosis and was moved into state-funded supportive housing.

As Duff’s brother’s condition has progressed, the actor and her family have struggled to find him the specialist round-the-clock care he needs to keep him safe.

Eddie was previously allocated a social worker. However, when she was removed from his case, nobody was assigned to replace her. “The care system is a mess,” Duff said.

The Shameless star maintained that, despite her brother’s worsening condition, her family have managed to still share happy moments together.

“We’re always giggling and we’re always laughing. And you will get precious memories, even though the memories are cobwebs,” she said.

Duff added she worries for full-time carers. “All the love in the world is not going to make you able to care for somebody with dementia,” she said.

“People feel they ought to be able to be a caregiver and that somehow, all of that will transcend reality.”

American icons Taylor Swift and Caitlin Clark showed up to support the Kansas City Chiefs in their playoff game against the Houston Texans.

On Saturday (January 18) the Chiefs won with a final score of 23 to 14 against the Texans to move on and play in the AFC championship game. In addition to the Grammy winner showing up to watch her boyfriend Travis Kelce play, the Indiana Fever player sat in the same suite as Swift and her family.

At one point during the fourth quarter of the game, the WNBA Rookie of the Year was seen sitting next to the “Karma” singer as Kelce caught a touchdown. The two of them began excitedly jumping up and down and then hugged each other. Swift then made sure to include Kelce’s father, Ed, as the three of them were celebrating together.

Many people were quick to notice Clark and Swift together on X (formerly Twitter) as they gushed over how “cute” their interactions were, especially as Time magazine’s Athlete of the Year has previously opened up about how she’s been a Chiefs fan since she was a child.

“I’m sure these two will be great friends soon,” one post read.

“This is so cute considering Caitlin is a fan,” another post pointed out.

“Wow, power duo alert! taylor swift and caitlin clark slaying at the texans vs chiefs game! iconic moment for sure,” a third person wrote about the pair’s interaction.

While speaking with Time last month, Clark mentioned that she attended back-to-back Eras Tour performances at Lucas Oil Stadium where the “Fearless” singer gave her four bags of merchandise alongside a note from Swift telling her how “inspiring” she is.

The University of Iowa alum also told the publication that Swift mentioned going to a Fever game with “Trav” when the WNBA season starts and she went on to invite her to a Chiefs game.

Throughout the NFL season, Swift has attended a total of eight out of nine home games for the Chiefs. This was largely due to her Eras Tour schedule which saw her last performance on December 8 in Vancouver, Canada.

Despite this schedule, Swift has tried to attend every home game the Chiefs have played during her breaks, in order to show her support for Kelce.

She reportedly did not show up to many away games this year due to the lack of security at other football stadiums. “If she is going to a place that isn’t Arrowhead, there are security concerns,” a source previously told Page Six. “She has worked with Arrowhead so many times, they feel at ease and comfortable. Going to all kinds of different stadiums, you need to send a team in advance.”

Following the team’s win, their next game will be against either the Buffalo Bills — who gave them one of their only losses all season — or the Baltimore Ravens, depending on who wins between the two of them on Sunday (January 19).

The Chiefs have gone on to win the Super Bowl and take home the Vince Lombardi trophy for the last two years in a row, as they now attempt to achieve their third Super Bowl win.

On Saturday (January 18) many people across the U.S. logged onto TikTok only for a message to appear on their screens telling them that it “isn’t available right now.”

For weeks, influencers who depended on the app for their income tried to remain hopeful that a U.S. company would purchase it before the ban went into effect,

The shutdown comes after the Supreme Court ruled in favor of a law barring TikTok from U.S. consumers, citing threats to national security. President Joe Biden signed legislation in April requiring TikTok to be sold by its owner, Chinese company ByteDance, or face a ban.

Leading up to the ban, many influencers spoke to their fans one last time either to thank their viewers or explain what they were going to do next, such as turning to the Chinese app, Rednote.

Makeup artist, James Charles, reflected on the loss of the app by posting a video of himself on his Instagram Story saying that he had no idea what to do with himself and “probably opened the app like six times just to get the same stupid message.”

“This is so dystopian,” he said. “First of all, I feel pathetic that I’m freaking out like this over an application being unavailable on my phone, but also, this has been a massive part of our lives for the last six years and normally when something like this happens I would get on TikTok and start complaining and I can’t even do that.”

“I feel cut off from the world and my community,” he added. “Now I’m rooting for Trump? Ew. Make America great again, I guess.”

However, other influencers such as Emily Senn, who had 348,000 followers on the platform, cried over losing TikTok as she explained how it helped her get through some tough times in her life.

“To the U.S. government, I’m never forgiving you for this,” she said. “And I’m never going to trust you ever again because you, just like that, took away millions of people’s incomes and livelihoods. Who does that?”

“The pandemic, losing my job, all of that. Getting divorced, all of this s*** that’s happened to me in the last five years since I’ve been on here,” she added Hours and hours and hours of time I put into creating stuff for this platform.”

Alix Earle, who had more than seven million followers on the app, posted a video of herself tearfully holding a glass of wine in bed. “How I’m going to sleep tonight,” she wrote over the video. “Thank god for this wine rn.”

“It’s really hitting me because I feel it’s like in a world where there’s so much judgment, TikTok provided a place where I can be free, I can be cringe, I can be who I am,” said Riri Bichri, a New York-based content creator known for her 2000s nostalgia parody videos.

“I shouldn’t cry about something so stupid, but it really changed my life,” she added.

Another influencer with over two million followers under the username “chloebuffcakes” also cried about the loss of her community.

“I’m just watching the life and community I built be torn down,” she said. “An app that has given millions of women financial independence and supported seven million small businesses. Where I shared losing my mom to brain cancer and became financially able to raise my seve-year-old sister.”

However, on Sunday (January 19), TikTok released a statement saying it had reached an agreement with its service providers after President-elect Donald Trump said he would issue an executive order on Monday giving ByteDance, its parent company, an extension to find a buyer.

“In agreement with our service providers, TikTok is in the process of restoring service,” the app said in a statement.

“We thank President Trump for providing the necessary clarity and assurance to our service providers that they will face no penalties providing TikTok to over 170 million Americans and allowing over 7 million small businesses to thrive.”

TikTok added: “It’s a strong stand for the First Amendment and against arbitrary censorship. We will work with President Trump on a long-term solution that keeps TikTok in the United States.”

Actor and model Poppy Delevingne has announced that she is expecting her first child with her partner, the billionaire businessman Archie Keswick.

The 38-year-old Kingsman: The Golden Circle and Riviera actor, who is the sister of Cara and Chloe Delevingne, said becoming a mother is “all I’ve ever wanted” as she shared the news that she’s expecting a baby girl in an interview with Elle magazine.

Delevingne revealed she first discovered she was pregnant during London Fashion Week when her clothes began feeling tighter at a second fitting for a Burberry show.

“She really is all I’ve ever wanted,” Delevingne told the magazine.

She added: “The people that are closest to me know how much I have wanted this my whole life.

“I’ve watched a lot of my friends do it, I have nine godchildren, I am an auntie, and I think they’ve known that since I was a little girl, I dreamt of being a mumma.

“There were points during the last few years where I thought that maybe this wouldn’t happen for me. I’d made my peace with that. So I think when we told people the news they were very emotional and happy.”

Delevingne had been keeping “very tight-lipped” about the pregnancy, but felt there was no way of hiding her bump anymore since her due date is in May.

“I always imagined that if this moment had ever happened to me I would have told people,” she said.

“I think I was really nervous, as well. It just feels like such an extraordinary privilege to be able to do this, to be able to have a baby at this age and at this time, and when it happened, I couldn’t really believe it. It still feels really surreal.”

The model revealed she has been in a “constant state of worry” about having a baby in her late thirties, but she is feeling more excited and less anxious as the weeks go by.

“I’ve got to the point where I’m just so excited to meet her. If I shut my eyes, I feel like I know her, she added.

“She’s already making me laugh, I think she’s going to be a funny one.”

Delevingne said that her famous sisters, Cara, 32, and Chloe, 39, were “elated” by the news, and the spent Christmas getting excited together.

“We were all in New York, with each other and with the bump and there was a lot of talking to the bump, stroking the bump. They’re just elated,” she said.

Delevingne was previously married to businessman James Cook, who she met when she was 20 and split 15 years later.

She married the businessman at St Paul’s Church in Kensington in 2014 in an elaborate ceremony where she had 17 bridesmaids and Geri Halliwell and Trinny Woodall were among guests.

Delevingne and Cook separated after eight years of marriage, but the model has since said that the “stigma” surrounding divorce stopped her from ending the marriage sooner.

Speaking on the Origins With Cush Jumbo podcast, she said of the stigma: “I’m quite sad, actually, that we should feel that there’s such a thing about it, that, god she’s divorced, damaged goods, no one’s going to want you.

“Especially women in their late thirties who haven’t had a baby ... It’s not easy to make that kind of a decision. It’s not by any stretch.

“And I think within that, you have to have courage. You’ve got to love yourself, put yourself first, and you’ve got to be happy. We have one shot at life. Oh my god, I chose happiness. I chose me.”

With additional reporting from agencies.
