The payments should arrive within 14 working days.

They will be paid into the same bank or building society account the recipient receives their other benefits into.

Cold weather payments may be awarded to those getting:

• Pension Credit
• Income Support
• income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
• income-related Employment and Support Allowance
• Universal Credit
• Support for Mortgage Interest

People will need to inform their pension centre or Jobcentre Plus office if they think they should have received a cold weather payment but have now.

Those on Universal Credit will need to sign into their online account and leave a note on their journal.

If they don't have an online account, they will need to contact the Universal Credit helpline instead.
