Multiple Democratic lawmakers came out against US President Joe Biden's border-related executive action announced on Monday.
The action would ban migrants crossing the US southern border "unlawfully" from seeking asylum. That will happen once a daily threshold is met and the border is "overwhelmed", the White House said in a statement.
According to Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, this action is like trying to "out-Republican the Republicans" and a "step in the wrong direction".
