The first Ashes Test match between England and Australia was left on a knife edge after four days of play - and the decisive final day delivered plenty of drama despite a delayed start after rain washed out the morning session at Edgbaston.
Both sides had clear routes to victory with 67 overs possible, England set a target of another seven wickets and Australia 174 runs on the final day. The fifth day in Birmingham was also confirmed as a 25,000 sell-out shortly.
