Authorities say at least 157 people are dead after landslides in southern Ethiopia.
The disasters occurred in a district of the Gofa Zone administrative area. Many of the victims were buried in a landslide on Monday as people were digging through the rubble searching for survivors of another mudslide the day before.
Officials said Monday that at least 55 people had been killed in that landslide.
Some information for this report came from The Associated Press, Reuters and Agence France-Presse.
