Mauricio Pochettino has become the latest figure to support The Independent’s Help The Hungry campaign, with the appeal raising over £1.5m to assist the most vulnerable in society during the coronavirus crisis.
The former Tottenham manager, who led the club to the final of the Champions League last season, has highlighted the project with the aim of spreading awareness around and lending a hand to food charities.
“In this difficult moment, The Independent has launched Help the Hungry to get as many meals to as many vulnerable people as possible across the country during the coronavirus pandemic,” he says.
“Food charities please get in touch so we can help. No act of kindness, however small, is wasted.”
The Independent has teamed up with the Evening Standard to support The Felix Project – a start-up charity we helped launch in 2016 – delivering produce to community hubs in London boroughs.
The Independent is encouraging readers to help groups that are trying to feed the hungry across the country – find out how you can help here. Follow this link to donate to our campaign in London, in partnership with the Evening Standard.
