The silence inside the Aviva Stadium is broken by applause as Scotland appear from the tunnel, closely followed by Johnny Sexton and his Ireland team.

Next up we’re off to Dublin’s Aviva Stadium, where the gauntlet has certainly been laid down by Fiji and Georgia as it will be a tough ask for the Irish and Scottish to match that excitement.

Nadolo is nearly in for his fourth try of the day, but his intercept score goes without reward as a late tackle seconds before gives Georgia a penalty. However, the ball is knocked forwards soon after, and that will be that.

Fiji beat Georgia 36-24 in a nine-try cracker!

Georgia get the reward for the commitment in carrying over and over again, and it’s Beka Saghinadze who manages to power his way over for their third try of the match! It’s too late to change the result now, but this really has been a brilliant curtain-raiser for the day’s action.

Georgia are refusing to go down without a fight and they come within inches of the line, only for two massive Fijian tackles to send them into reverse. They crucially retain possession, and draw the offside penalty out of the defence that gives them a free crack at the line… TRY FOR GEORGIA!

It comes to nothing as the lineout goes over the top and into the hands of Georgia, who fling it down the line with reckless abandon. The ball finds its way to wing Todua, who kicks it deep downfield, and Nadolo has to retreat to field it and kick possession to touch with a rather unconventional effort.

Georgia look to try and go wide but the ball comes loose in contact and allows Nadolo to pinch possession, before they win a penalty as the defence comes in from the side in an effort to win back the ball. Volavola kicks to touch just outside the 22 and Fiji sense another chance to score here.

Well who saw that coming? Georgia earn some much-needed respite with a breakdown penalty and it allows them to kick into the Fijian half for what feels like the first time since the restart.They take full advantage though as flanker Beka Saghinadze charges through the defence, high knees and all, and despite Botia’s best efforts he manages to swivel and ground the ball next to the uprights, providing the simplest of conversions. 

TRY FOR GEORGIA!

Georgia are crumbling, sadly. Fiji kick to the corner following an offside penalty and they set up the dummy drive. Instead, the ball is passed out to Nemani Nadolo on the crash ball, and he smashes through Saghinadze and Abzhandadze to ease over for his third of the match - the 22nd of his career that puts him level with all-time leading Fiji try scorer Niki Goneva. Volavola converts.
