Horses have led the the Queen’s Gold State Coach down The Mall as the Platinum Jubilee Pageant gets underway.
A hologram of a young Queen during her 1953 coronation was projected onto the State Coach, but the Queen is not herself in attendance due to ongoing mobility issues.
More than 10,000 performers will take part in four different acts, each of which will help tell the story of the Queen’s historic 70-year reign.
Those taking part include people from the military, volunteers, theatre performers, key workers and 2,500 members of the general public.
The pageant will also feature 150 “national treasures”, including celebrities such as Sir Cliff Richard, Heston Blumenthal, Rosie Jones, Alan Titchmarsh, Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, and Gary Lineker.
Crowds will be treated to a special performance by Ed Sheeran, who is expected to sing the National Anthem.
The pageant coincides with the Big Jubilee Lunch, with thousands of street parties taking place across the UK.
Ten million people across the UK are expected to join in on local events, BBQs and other community festivites to celebrate the Queen’s platinum jubilee.
Yesterday, Prince Charles paid a moving, personal tribute to the Queen at the Platinum Party at the Palace and thanked her for being there for the nation in good times and bad for 70 years.
The future king was joined by his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall and addressed the Queen, who remains head of state at the age of 96 despite her mobility problems, saying: “You pledged to serve your whole life – you continue to deliver.”
Amongst this weekend’s celebrations, the Queen did not attend the Epsom Derby and platinum jubilee thanksgiving service at St Paul’s Cathedral on Friday, after experiencing “discomfort” following a busy first day of festivities on Thursday.

Third act of Pageant underway
The third act of today’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant is now underway.
The act, titled ‘Let’s Celebrate’, tells the story of the Queen’s 70-year reign and pays homage to her service and dedication.
So far, it has featured a performative dance routine including a large dragon puppet managed by multiple puppeteers.

Prince Louis steals show at Jubilee Pageant
Prince Louis, four, is in attendance of today’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant alongside his father, Prince William, mother, Kate Middleton and siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
Much like during Thursday’s celebrations, the young prince has amused audiences as he put his head in his hands during the show.

Hologram of young Queen projected onto Gold State Coach
A hologram of a young Queen was projected onto the Gold State Coach as it travelled through the Platinum Jubilee Pageant today.
While the Queen herself is not currectly in attendance at today’s pageant, footage of her from coronation in 1953 was cast onto the historic coach.
Attendees could see the images of the young monarch waving from the backseat of the coach, and Prince Charles stood up as the coach passed by at the pageant that brings the platinum jubilee celebrations to a close.

Boris Johnson, Carrie Johnson and Keir Starmer arrive at pageant
Prime Minister Boris Johnson has taken his seat at today’s jubilee pageant, alongside wife Carrie Johnson.
Labour leader Keir Starmer is also in attendance at the celebration in front of Buckingham Palace, London on the fourth and final day of jubilee festivities.
Today’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant kicked off at 2.30pm and will involve 10,000 participants and performances from Ed Sheeran and other famous faces.

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have joined their parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, in the royal box to watch the pageant.
Kate is dressed in a long-sleeved, form-fitting fuchsia pink dress, while Prince William is wearing a classic black suit.
Charlotte looks sweet in a cream coat with peter pan collar.

The Queen’s Gold State Coach is travelling along The Mall as members of the royal family, including the Prince of Wales, take their position to watch the spectacle.
Half of The King’s Troop, which is leading the procession, are women.

The Queen, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not attend the pageant, royal commentator says
The Queen, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are not expected to attend the Platinum Jubilee Pageant this afternoon.
According to royal commentator Omid Scobie, most senior members of the royal family will attend.
The public can expect to see the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Princess Beatrice and Eugenie are also set to attend, alongside their husbands Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Jack Brooksbank.
Some of the Queen’s great grandchildren will also be present, Scobie said.
