The Premier League’s ‘big six’ announced plans to become part of the breakaway competition, which has 12 founding members for the proposed 20-club competition.

This is the first time Liverpool have lost as many as 10 competitive fixtures in a single calendar year before the end of April since 1954. Only two of their 16 Premier League goals in 2021 were scored in the first half, and both of those came in stoppage time after 45 minutes.

On Monday Night Football Gary Neville echoed the thoughts of Jamie Carragher in organising the fans to oppose the European Super League plans and he put the blame squarely on the owners of the ‘big six’ especially those of Manchester United and Liverpool football clubs. He said:

Leeds have won just one of their last 11 home games against Liverpool in all competitions. They have conceded 52 goals in their 25 Premier League games against the Reds, more than they have versus any other side.

Liverpool are one short of becoming the first club to record 50 top-flight victories against Leeds. The hosts have kept only one clean sheet in their last 21 competitive matches versus Liverpool.
