41 min: Another poor pass at the back, this time from Robertson. He picks out McNeil, who works space to shoot but sees his effort blocked by Gomez. Burnley will have another corner.
Liverpool are taking on Burnley at Anfield today as the close in on the Premier League points record set by Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
The new champions began the day on 92 points, and with four games remaining they can set a new benchmark for top-flight points. However they will have to do it without their captain Jordan Henderson after he was ruled out for the rest of the campaign, and face a Burnley side in good form since the restart.
Follow all the action below live:
41 min: Alisson punches clear a Burnley corner under pressure. That seems the most likely route to goal for the visitors.
39 min: A rare loose pass at the back from Van Dijk sells Gomez short and McNeil gets away down the left. Gomez is back to clear the low cross that comes in.

37 min: Liverpool are consistently beating Burnley's press and running at the away side's back four. It's a problem for Dyche's side, who've had no answer to anything the champions have done in this first half.
33 min: Big chance! Mane nicks the ball in Burnley's box and finds Salah, who moves the ball onto his left foot and has just Pope to beat. The goalkeeper, so impressive this season, makes another good save, this time with his left foot.

31 min: Burnley are struggling to get a foothold in midfield. Liverpool are probing, with Jones and Firmino looking to create. For now, the away side are standing firm, but it's going to be a long afternoon if it continues like this.
28 min: From the next corner, Liverpool clear and look to break quickly through Mane. Salah and Firmino stream forward on either side of him but Taylor makes a crucial intervention.
27 min: McNeil gives Burnley some respite, charging down the left and winning a corner. The set piece is sent in dangerously by Westwood, dropped right underneath Alisson, who's under pressure from the visitors' biggest players. Van Dijk, towering above everyone, gets his head to it.
23 min: Taylor is played down the left by McNeil but can't keep his cross in play. That brings up the first-half drinks break.
22 min: Mane and Salah try to play a one-two on the edge of the box but the latter's pass is too heavy. Liverpool's front three look on good form so far, though.
21 min: Another chance for Jones! Liverpool work the ball into the box with quick, one-touch football, and Salah's pass into the middle comes to the youngster. He has time to get the ball out of his feet and shoot, but it deflects wide.

18 min: What a save! Firmino brings down a high ball in the box and allows Salah to shoot on his right foot. It looks destined for the top corner but Pope, flying to his left, somehow claws it out.
17 min: Burnley are trying to exploit Liverpool's high line, but in Wood and Rodriguez they don't quite have the pace to trouble Van Dijk and Gomez.
16 min: Chance! Robertson crosses from the left and Firmino lets it run for Jones. His left-footed shot is low and hard but too close to Pope.

15 min: Firmino, of course, still hasn't scored at Anfield in the Premier League this season. He looks determined to change that so far today.
14 min: Salah is fouled on the edge of the box and goes for goal from the free kick himself. It's a good angle for a left footer but he curls it well over the bar. Alexander-Arnold, had he been on the pitch, would've fancied that.
13 min: Brilliant from Mane, who collects on the left, glides past a couple of players and sells Bardsley with a dummy. He looks set to shoot but Firmino takes the ball off him and has a go himself, seeing an effort deflected off target.

11 min: Very good defending from Tarkowski. Robertson is sent in behind down the left and crosses early for Salah in the middle. He looks set to prod home from close range but the Burnley centre back is across again to clear.
10 min: Liverpool have been in control so far, without really causing Burnley too many problems. The pattern of the game has been set, though. The onus is on the champions to break down one of the most organised teams in the division.
