Former international showjumper and British Showjumping board director Liz Edgar has died at the age of 76 following a short battle with cancer.

Edgar won the Queen Elizabeth Cup a record five times, represented Great Britain at championships and at numerous Nations Cups and also supported the early careers of top riders including Nick Skelton and Ben Maher.

Her older brother, fellow international showjumper David Broome said: "Liz's contribution to showjumping was far more than people realised - it was her whole life."
