This breakaway group is showing no signs of faltering, as the six riders continue to maintain a comfortable distance from the peloton with a gap of 3.33 minutes.

However, three riders from the Netherlands look set to launch a sprint at any given moment, as Ellen van Dijk and her two teammates remain at the front of the peloton.

A formality for Scheffler, birdie, his seventh of the day, he's -17 and one behind the lead. This is a thriller at Le Golf National.

Fleetwood’s second shot from the par five 14th, finishes short and in the bunker, work to do to get to -19 overall. Rahm, further up, but with a heavy lie, digs one out and he'll have a pitch to carve out a birdie try.

And on 16 Scheffler pulls off another dart, birdie putt coming up to move into a tie for the lead. Team USA in contention for gold once more.

McIlroy on 15, but he finds the water, could that be his hopes of gold gone? He drops and his pitch is way long, this is a tough one to even make bogey.

Amber Rutter has been guaranteed a medal in the women’s skeet final.

As the fourth athlete departs, Rutter was second, having hit 37 out of 40 targets in the competition.

Solo chaser Olga Zabelinskaya of Uzbekistan drops back into the bunch following a difficult climb, while Afghanistan’s Yulduz Hashimi gets her handlebars fixed by the mechanic, drifting away from the breakaway group with only a short distance to close.

The leaders now hold a four minute advantage over the bunch, with all six riders maintaining an impressive tempo at this half-way stage.

Algeria’s Kaylia Nemour has just pulled off a stunning, near-perfect routine on the uneven bars and clinched the first Olympic gold ever by an African gymnast. History made!

There's a tense battle for gold with Jon Rahm, once four shots clear, level with Tommy Fleetwood on -18. Hideki Matsuyama is one behind and took a brutal five on 14.

Team USA's Scottie Scheffler is coming too, a seventh birdie of the day is coming up, he can tie Matsuyama and McIlroy on -17.

And look out for Victor Perez, the home favourite, he’s eight-under and just two back on -16. A special finish to the final round.

Remember, Tom Kim is bidding to medal here to avoid military service back in Korea. He’s only on -14 though, three outside of the medals.

Slovakia’s Nora Jencusova has returned to the breakaway group, battling to keep her place in the lead. She joins riders from Afghanistan, Vietnam and Israel, with the second chaser, Olga Zabelinskaya of Uzbekistan, remaining just over 2km behind.

Ellen van Dijk of the Netherlands, meanwhile, has kept her spot at the front of the bunch, perhaps looking to for a surge as we head into the last 80km.

The breakaway group - currently consisting of six riders - now holds a near nine minute advantage over the bunch with just over 85km left of the race.

The second chase group, sitting four minutes behind the leaders, will be spurred on by Slovakia’s Nora Jencusova’s departure from the breakaway, though, after she momentarily stopped to fix her gears.
