Tania Bowers, Legal Counsel and Head of Public Policy at the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo), told Express.co.uk many self-employed people are currently facing “incredible uncertainty”.
Ms Bowers said: “Perhaps the most crucial aspects of support for the self-employed at the moment is flexibility and speed.
“When the first lockdown was announced, support for this section of the workforce was slow to materialise and left a number of self-employed individuals in flux, unable to work as businesses shut down but also unable to be furloughed.
“While we are yet to hear if the SEISS grant will be extended, we are once again quickly running out of time, and these professionals are facing incredible uncertainty.
