Tottenham Hotspur are investigating after defender Serge Aurier appeared to break lockdown rules for a third time, this time to get a haircut.

The Ivorian international has already been reminded of his responsibilities by the club and was forced to apologise after he was pictured out running with a friend as well as training with teammate Moussa Sissoko in a local park.

Now, in images posted to Instagram, it appears he has broken guidelines once again to get his hair cut.

He posted pictures of it to the social networking site while tagging professional barber Justin Carr, who also cuts the hair of fellow Premier League footballers Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Kyle Walker.

It is not clear when Aurier got the haircut although the post was published on Tuesday evening.

Hairdressers are currently closed under the UK’s nationwide lockdown rules and are not expected to open again until July at the earliest.

The club are investigating the incident.

“We are investigating the circumstances and will deal with the incident appropriately,” a spokesperson said.

Aurier later defended his actions by suggesting both he and the hairdresser in question didn’t have the virus.

“My hairdresser is negative and me too so stop talking in a vacuum and put on masks and gloves when you come to take pictures at the training centre its part of the rules too,” he said on Instagram.

Premier League players are under strict instructions to maintain social distancing guidelines with clubs returning to training in small groups this week in phase one of plans that could see the season get back underway next month.
