Spurs have been on a bit of a slippery slope for a while now, in Premier League terms. Yes, they reached last year's European Cup final - but their league form before that was looking pretty wretched, too. Jose has a big job on this summer one way or another.
Tottenham Hotspur host Wolves today in what could prove a significant moment in the race for European qualification next season.
Spurs are sixth coming into the game, with Wolves a point behind them in eighth, and the recent sanction of Manchester City by Uefa could yet open up a route to the Champions League via a fifth-placed finish in the Premier League.
Jose Mourinho continues to contend with a number of injuries, including Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, Moussa Sissoko and Ryan Sessegnon, while his former goalkeeper at Porto Nuno Espirito Santo is missing only Jonny from his Wolves squad. Follow all the action here:
Both of these teams have struggled with consistency issues at times this season - which can pretty much be said for the rest of the Champions League challengers, too.
Looking ahead, there's perhaps more emphasis on Spurs to get a result here, given they go on to face Burnley, Man United and a usually heated game against West Ham in their next three in the league, while Wolves face Brighton, the Hammers and Bournemouth.
Tottenham
had won three in a row prior to losing against Chelsea last time out in the league, while Jose Mourinho's side also lost against RB Leipzig in the Champions League last week.Wolves lost at Espanyol but progressed on aggregate on Thursday, but have only won one of their last four in the league - beating Norwich 3-0 a week ago.

In terms of the league table, it's all getting very condensed between fourth and eighth. Chelsea, at the top of that group, have 45 points; Spurs could go to 43 or Wolves to 42 with a win today. With the knowledge that fifth place might secure a Champions League spot this season, pending Man City's appeal, there's so much to play for and every win against a rival could have a defining impact.
Wolves make four changes from their midweek Europa League game, which includes Thursday's impressive performer Daniel Podence returning to the bench. Ruben Vinagre continues at left wing-back, with Jonny Castro Otto still out with an ankle injury.
No Hugo Lloris for Spurs today, who have Harry Winks starting as skipper and Michel Vorm as sub goalkeeper. Giovani Lo Celso has been in good form of late, while Troy Parrott is on the bench as a young striker option in the continued absences of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.
