Crystal Palace have confirmed the signing of right back Chris Richards from Bayern Munich on a five-year deal.

The United States international, who has spent the last 18 months on loan at Hoffenheim, arrives on a reported £10m fee.

A banner was also unfurled during Atletico’s friendly match against CD Numancia, stating: “CR7 not welcome”.
