Trump claims Georgia DA had an affair with a gang member
The Office of the Fulton County Clerk of Superior and Magistrate Courts has issued a statement saying that a “fictitious” document has been shared online after Donald Trump claimed that charges had been filed against him ahead of a grand jury vote.
“While there have been no documents filed today regarding such, all members of the media should be reminded that documents that do not bear an official case number, filing date, and the name of The Clerk of Courts, in concert, are not considered official filings and should not be treated as such,” the court said.
They added that “Media members can expect to be notified of any/all filings in real-time and will be provided access to filings via equitable communication”.
Mr Trump ranted and raved about what he claimed was “accidentally filed” charges against him in an email to supporters asking for money amidst his ever-mounting legal woes.
In an email to supporters, Mr Trump appeared to have an opposite version of events to the court, saying: “As reported by Reuters, the Fulton County District Attorney just accidentally filed CHARGES against me in the Georgia Witch Hunt – and then DELETED them from the court website!”
Karen Pence says she ‘never felt afraid’ on January 6 despite ‘hang Mike Pence’ chants
Despite rioters chanting “hang Mike Pence” on January 6, the former vice president’s wife admitted she was “never” afraid during the Capitol riot, in her first public comments about the incident.
When asked if she was afraid throughout the course of the turbulent day, Karen Pence told ABC News: “I never felt afraid.”
“I really felt like we just had such a peace and God’s presence,” the former second lady recalled. “And just a sense of purpose and determination that I don’t think any of us in the whole group – all the staff and everyone with us – I don’t think any of us felt fear. I think we felt like a sense of resolve.”

Georgia says Trump charges posted on court website were ‘fictitious’ as ex-president blasts ‘disgraceful leak’
There was plenty of confusion regarding possible charges against former President Donald Trump in the Georgia election interference case.
Reuters reported on Monday that a document outlining the charges against Mr Trump had been posted and then removed from the Fulton County website.
Mr Trump then used the document to ask for donations from his supporters, arguing that he was being denied due process.
The Office of the Fulton County Clerk of Superior and Magistrate Courts then issued a statement on Monday afternoon saying that a “fictitious” document had been shared online.
The office said they had “learned of a fictitious document that has been circulated online and reported by various media outlets related to The Fulton County Special Purpose Grand Jury”.

VOICES: No matter how many indictments come down, it’s still Donald Trump’s Republican Party
Few states have vexed former president Donald Trump more than Iowa. In 2016, he narrowly lost the state to Sen Ted Cruz (R-TX), who pulled off a stunner against the then-political neophyte thanks to aggressive campaigning.
Mr Trump would win the state in 2016 and again in 2020 during the general elections, turning Iowa from a battleground state that had voted for a Democrat in all but one presidential election from 1992 to 2012 to a solidly Republican state.
Since then, though, he’s picked a fight with his the state’s Gov Kim Reynolds, a former ally, for her supposed closeness with his chief rival, Florida Gov Ron DeSantis. A New York Times/Siena College poll showed that Mr Trump’s lead in the Hawkeye State is large, but not as big as it is nationally or in other states like New Hampshire and South Carolina, both of which Mr Trump won in 2016.
But Mr Trump cemented his dominance this weekend when he visited the Iowa State Fair. Members of Congress from Florida’s Republican delegation such as Reps Byron Donalds, Anna Paulina Luna, Cory Mills Greg Steube and Matt Gaetz flanked him, a reminder that they had chosen to back Mr Trump over Mr DeSantis.

‘This is business, it will never be personal’: Georgia DA readying Donald Trump’s fourth indictment
Donald Trump is expected to receive his fourth criminal indictment any day now when Fani Willis, district attorney of Fulton County, Georgia, formally charges him over his efforts to overturn the 2020 election result in the Peach State.
The first US president ever to be impeached twice also became the first to be charged with a crime in April when Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg charged him in New York City over accusations he falsified business records in order to conceal a hush money payment made to porn star Stormy Daniels in 2016 in order to prevent her discussing their extramarital affair a decade earlier, which might have derailed his bid for the White House had she been at liberty to speak out.
Since then, Justice Department special counsel Jack Smith has indicted him twice more: once in June over his alleged mishandling of classified documents belonging to the US government post-presidency – boxes of which were found stacked in a guest bathroom and ballroom at his Mar-a-Lago mansion in Florida during an FBI raid – and again in August over his alleged efforts to steal the election and the resulting attack on the US Capitol by his supporters on 6 January 2021.
In all three cases, Mr Trump pleaded not guilty to all charges and he is expected to do the same should he face a fresh set of accusations from Ms Willis.

Prosecutors have started presenting Georgia election investigation to grand jury
Prosecutors in Atlanta who have been investigating whether then-President Donald Trump and his allies illegally meddled in the 2020 election in Georgia have begun presenting their case to a grand jury.
Former Democratic state Sen. Jen Jordan, who had been subpoenaed to testify before the grand jury, said as she left the Fulton County courthouse late Monday morning that she had been questioned for about 40 minutes. News outlets reported that former Democratic state Rep. Bee Nguyen and Gabriel Sterling, a top official in the secretary of state’s office, were seen arriving at the courthouse earlier Monday.
For two and a-half years, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has been investigating actions taken by Trump and others in their efforts to overturn his narrow loss in Georgia to Democrat Joe Biden. Barriers and street closures around the courthouse in downtown Atlanta, as well as statements made by Willis, had indicated that a presentation to a grand jury was likely to begin this week.

Trump wildly inflates size of crowd at Iowa State Fair
Former president Donald Trump inflated attendance numbers of his appearance at the Iowa State Fair, saying he had a record attendance for his campaign stop.
Mr Trump gave a press conference at the fairgrounds in Des Moines that was broadcast by Real America’s Voice.
“It’s a real honour to be here,” he said. “We have a record that was set. The record is the largest crowd they’ve ever had and I can see that because you can’t get any more people here. I’m very honoured by it, tremendous thing.”

RFK Jr’s campaign claims he ‘misunderstood’ question about abortion ban in attempt to walk back his answer
Robert F Kennedy Jr’s campaign is once again in damage control mode after the Democratic primary contender appeared to come out in support of a national abortion ban after three months into a pregnancy.
The latest controversy began on Sunday, when NBC Capitol Hill correspondent Ali Vitali tracked down Mr Kennedy at the Iowa State Fair, a weeklong phenomenon that during election season draws just about every prominent presidential contender to the fairgrounds — not to mention the throngs of no-name contenders who are often present as well.
Mr Kennedy’s campaign teeters somewhere on the edge of seriousness, buoyed by his famous last name and financial support from right-wing operatives eager to weaken President Joe Biden’s reelection bid. He has clashed numerous times with the media and members of the party he is ostensibly a member of over issues including the Covid vaccine, the independence of medical experts, and even antisemitism.
