Andy Murray headlines today’s Wimbledon action when he begins his men’s doubles quest alongside brother Jamie in a busy day four schedule at the championships.
Scheduled to play the final match on Centre Court today, Murray begins his Wimbledon swan song following surgery to remove a spinal cyst last month. He pulled out of the men’s singles on Tuesday preferring instead to focus on the doubles where he will also feature alongside Emma Raducanu in the mixed event. The Murrays take on Australian pair Rinky Hijikata and John Peers, while five other British players feature across the two main show courts.
British wildcard Jacob Fearnley will have his moment on Centre Court, too, taking on Novak Djokovic first up. While Katie Boulter and Harriet Dart go toe-to-toe in an all-British second round clash in the women’s singles and Jack Draper’s reward for winning a thriller against Elias Ymer is a second round tie versus against former British No 1 and Wimbledon semi-finalist Cameron Norrie.

Wimbledon 2024: *Jacob Fearnley 3-6 Novak Djokovic - SET!
A champion’s timing from Djokovic there. After taking the break, he holds to love with a forehand winner to take the set.
Not a great deal in that really apart from the single break. It was ruthless from Djokovic.

Wimbledon 2024: Men’s Singles
Despite losing what must have been an exhausting third-set tie-break to Adam Walton, Francisco Comesana won the fourth set 6-1, so they’re heading into a fifth set (7-5, 1-6, 6-7 (12-14), 6-1).
On Court Two, Hubert Hurkacz was down two sets to Arthur Fils, but he grabbed one back and he’s now winning 5-4 in the fourth set.

Djokovic comes into the net on 15-15 but Fearnley produces another backhand pass!
But then Djokovic does get his chance. Fearnley misses wide on the backhand and then nets. Break poitn: Fearnley slices wide on the backhand!
As quickly as that Djokovic breaks, it came as Fearnley enjoyed his best moment of the match!

Wimbeldon 2024: Katie Boulter 6-4 Harriet Dart
Boulter gains a quick 30-0 lead in the tenth game on Court One.
After a brief rally, she’s 40-15 up after playing a great disguised shot back across Dart.
She has two set points now, but she only needs one of them as she crashes a pinpoint serve that Dart can only scoop well wide.

Wimbeldon 2024: *Katie Boulter 5-4 Harriet Dart

Wimbledon 2024: Jacob Fearnley 3-3 Novak Djokovic*
Fearnley continues to hang with Djokovic and takes another hold after losing the opening point. He steadied while looking to attack Djokovic, with the 37-year-old forced into a couple more errors. Fearnley takes the game as Djokovic clips the net-cord and the ball just lands out.

Wimbeldon 2024: Katie Boulter 5-3 Harriet Dart*
It’s a similarly assured game for Boulter as Dart goes too long before Boulter’s powerful forehand drive across court is too much for Dart to return.
Dart hooks it long again for 40-15, and she challenges the call, but it was well out.
Dart briefly gets back into it after a superb return from the serve, but she hooks the next return out and Boulter holds serve.
It’s 5-3 to the British number one, and she’s one game from a first-set lead.

Wimbledon 2024: Jacob Fearnley 2-2 Novak Djokovic*
After Djokovic holds to love, Fearnley has to face some pressure as a slice drifts long. But again, Djokovic makes three errors in a row as Fearnley emerges to take the hold. The seven-time champion has been a bit erratic so far from the baseline.
Still very early days though.

Wimbeldon 2024: *Boulter 4-3 Dart
All of a sudden, Boulter has a bit of a lead on Court One. She breaks Dart’s serve before racing into the 40-0 lead in her service game, with Dart eventually looping a shot long from Boulter’s serve to make it 4-2.
Dart fights back in the seventh game though, getting a 30-15 lead before Boulter crashes a shot against the net for 40-15.
Dart’s next serve is a good one, forcing Boulter to play the looping return over and setting her up for an easy volley across the British number one., for 4-3.
